Myles is a Senior Systems Design Engineer and systems architect with over 25 years’ experience of implementing cost effective solutions for broadcast and media business around the world. Myles has worked on a large number of highly complex projects for clients such as The Walt Disney Company, Discovery Communications, BBC and SKY. Projects have covered all aspects of the broadcast industry from playout, news, post production and studios to radio, audio and nonlinear systems.

Recent experience:

  • Project Tardis for Sky PLC, a £42m program of work to relaunch Sky News for both linear and non-linear (OTT) platforms. Myles performed the high level specification and low level design of two new Production Control Rooms and three studios (including VR) for Sky
  • Ran the specification and procurement process for the BBC sport non-linear systems at “Media City” in Manchester
  • Responsible for the implementation and replacement of playout technology for SBS Broadcasting Networks

Specific expertise:

  • Assist in defining space and M&E requirements with the building contractors
  • Consult with the client to form a full understanding of the operational requirements of a system
  • Generate a set of specific requirements and workflow to which a technical solution can be applied
  • Provide a high level design with major equipment choices which will best meet the requirements and the budget
  • Provide an accurate budget and equipment list based on the design, while respecting the balance of requirement and cost
  • Generate documentation, run and assist with the evaluation of a tender process
  • Provide full detailed technical design
